[Important] Notice for users who are using Media4car for iOS

Clarion has found the following issue with Media4car for iOS apps when they are used with a iPhone running iOS 10.3 or later.
A different song from the one you selected may be played.
 
This issue has been improved in version 1.3.1 of Media4car, so please use version 1.3.1 or later.

[Important] Notice for users who plan to upgrade iPhone to iOS11.0 or later

After installing or reinstalling the following applications on iOS 11.0 or later, the pop-up screen of permission of location information is displayed at the first launch, and if you select “Only when using the App“ on the screen, the application does not work properly.
In case of using iOS 11.0 or later, please select "Always allow" on the pop-up screen of permission of location information.

An announcement for the users of Smart Access service apps

Thank you for continuous use of Clarion Smart Access service.
 
Google changes its Log-in method on 4/20/2017 in order to enhance the security measures.
When the changes by Google enters into effect, the Google Log-in with the Clarion's apps may not work properly if they have not been updated to the latest version.
Clarion suggests all users to update the apps listed below to the latest version as described next to each app from App Store or Play Store whichever appropriate using your smartphone immediately.

Notice for Android™ Phone users

February 6th, 2017
Thank you for using Clarion Smart Access services.
 
Clarion observed the following issue related to our Smart Access services, specifically Smart Access, when used together with some of Android™ Phones.
 
When launched Smart Access, the terms of use and some others cannot be displayed and the screen turns white.
 
When you have Smart Access installed in your Android ™ Phone, update Android system WebView and Chrome that have been preinstalled in your phone to the latest version and restart the Smart Access.

For Chrome update

  1. Launch Play Store on your Android™ Phone.
  2. Enter ”Chrome” into the search box in Play Store.
  3. Select ”Chrome Browser-Google ” in the search result list.
  4. Press the Update button when the Chrome Browser-Google app is displayed.

  1. Launch Play Store on your Android™ Phone.
  2. Enter ”Android System WebView” into the search box in Play Store.
  3. Select ”Android System WebView” in the search result list.
  4. Press the Update button when the Android System WebView app is displayed.

【Important】 Announcement for customers who plan to update your android smartphone to Android 7.0 or later

Thank you for using Clarion’s Smart Access service.
 
Clarion has found some issues with Smart Access Android™ Link apps when they are used with a smartphone running Android 7.0 or later.
Here is a summary of the issues:
1. When any Smart Access Android™ Link apps are launched from the launcher screen on your in-vehicle device, it may not appear and/or properly work on the device's screen.
2. When the in-vehicle device's return button is pressed, it does not return to the launcher screen.
 
The version 4.4.0 of Smart Access Android™ Link app that has fixed these issues is ready for downloading on 12/26/2016.
Hence, we strongly advise you to update to the version 4.4.0 or later as soon as it is available.
 
We apologize for any inconveniences these issues may have caused.

Notice for users who plan to update iPhone to iOS10.0 or later

September 14th, 2016
 
After you have updated your iPhone to iOS10.0 and later, when you launch Media4car to play music from your smartphone, the following pop-up is displayed:

Clarion suggests to launch Media4car from the smartphone and when the pop-up displays, press the “OK” button to allow it to access music while the car is parked in a safe place.
If the pop-up displays while the car is in motion, Clarion suggests to stop the car in a safe place and then press the “OK” button on the smartphone.
 
Please refer to this setting if you select the "Don’t Allow".

Notice for DriveMate Meter (iOS) user

September 14th, 2016
 
DriveMate Meter app will not be able to use for Smart Access iPhone Link after you update the app to ver. 2.2.0 or later.
Please keep the app ver.2.1.1. if you want to continue to use the app on Clarion In-Vehicle devices.

An announcement on renaming of Tweet4car. (Tweet4car has been renamed to Twi4car)

Tweet4car, a Smart Access iPhone Link application will be renamed to "Twi4car" for Ver. 3.0.2 or later on the following screens.

Notice for DashCommand™ (iOS) users

Clarion identified that DashCommand™  (Ver. 4.6.9 and later) cannot use the Smart Access service.
We are investigating the solution now.

Notice for Waze® (Android) users

May 25th, 2016
 
When users select one of the following two modes, the smartphone screen will switch to camera mode, and disconnects SmartAccess service.
・Chat report.
・Place report.
Clarion suggests that users should not use these modes while driving.
