An Electronic Link Supporting the Traffic System of the Future
Our Inter-vehicle Communication System for IMTS (Intelligent Multimode Transit System) enables automated linear running of multiple vehicles through the use of SS (Spread Spectrum) wireless communication technology. Information such as speed and vehicle position is instantaneously transmitted via transceivers installed in each car to allow steady and safe running of a vertical line of vehicles.

Since IMTS requires less initial investments for infrastructure and its running cost is lower, it is gaining attention as a new mode of transportation that combines railway and road systems. An amusement park in Awajishima uses this technology to effectively control shuttle bus services within the park.
Bus convoys using this system are also in operation at EXPO 2005 AICHI JAPAN, as an essential mode of on-site transportation.
