(January 8, 2013) – Clarion Corporation of America, a leader in consumer and industrial mobile electronics, announced today the introduction of an all-new line of subwoofers for the 2013 model year, including an entry level model, a shallow-mount model and an amplified subwoofer. The new line offers cutting-edge styling, affordable prices, great power, and several technologically advanced features.
The new subwoofers are available in two distinct series. The WG Series is the entry level series designed to deliver rich, pumping bass on a tight budget and features a 10 inch and a 12-inch dual and a single voice coil subwoofer. The WF series includes two 10-inch dual and a single 4-ohm voice coil system featuring a unique shallow-mount design for flexible installation. Also new for 2013, is Clarion’s SRV250 low-profile amplified subwoofer. The new line allows enthusiasts to easily put together their favorite combination based on price, performance, or available space.

The affordable WG series features the WG3020D dual 4-ohm and the WG3020 single 4-ohm voice coil 12-inch subwoofer offering 1,000 watts of maximum and300 watts of continuous power. The WG2520D dual 4-ohm and WG2520 single 4-ohm 10-inch subwoofer offer the same power handling ratings as the WG3020. The more sophisticated WF2520D dual 4-ohm and WF2520 single 4-ohm voice coil 10-inch subwoofers feature a slim profile that makes them ideal for shallow-mounting depths as tight as 3-inches while still delivering 1000 watts of maximum power. Both the WG and WF series benefit from a custom stamped steel powder coated basket, aluminized composite dust cap and nitrile butadiene rubber high excursion surround.
Clarion’s low-profile SRV250 amplified subwoofer features a 6 ¾-inch AMI-PP cone, a dual 4-ohm voice coil and delivers 150 watts of maximum power. This MOS-FET power amplifier with rigid aluminum die-cast enclosure delivers rich, powerful bass response with low distortion. The adjustable gain control, selectable phase shift adjustment, built-in variable low-pass filter with wired remote control, and RCA/Speaker level inputs make this a very flexible system.
Clarion’s WG subwoofers will ship in the first quarter of 2013 with MSRPs starting at $109.99. The WF series will ship in the second quarter with MSRP starting at $159.99. The slim-profile SRV250 ships in the first quarter at an MSRP of $349.99.
