Cypress, Calif., (January 6, 2007) – Clarion Corporation of America (Clarion), a global leader of mobile electronics entertainment systems, showcases its updated family of powerful subwoofers. Among the featured updates include: gold-plated connections, large voice coils, hybrid cone structures, and stamped steel.
All new Clarion subwoofers feature SET (Spider Exhaust Technology) cooling to allow heat generated in the voice coil assembly to escape from the area beneath the spider. SET also allows pressurized air to escape from beneath the spider. This improves overall speaker linearity, especially at high excursion levels.
“We continually refine our products to offer the latest features and our newly updated subwoofers are no exception,” said Ralph Dominguez, senior product planning manager, Clarion Corporation of America. “With increased power, refined design and improved reliability, our subwoofers offer greater sound capabilities.”
Clarion’s signature PFW subwoofer is updated with cast aluminum basket, glass fiber hybrid cone, electrolytic spun aluminum dust cap and stitched tinsel leads. This subwoofer is designed to offer the best possible performance from a driver that requires only three inches of mounting depth.
Offering five new models, the new SRW subwoofers feature new levels of performance, design and reliability. The cone assembly is rigid, yet low in mass for excellent transient response and low distortion. The drivers use a pair of linear spiders to maintain control at high excursion levels. With increased power handling, rubber composite surround, aluminum voice coils and gold-plated connections, these subwoofers are in the top of their class.
The updated SW series is offering two-new models. Providing performance at an unbeatable price are the SW10X and SW12X subwoofers. These subwoofers feature many of the same technologies as the SRW and PXW subwoofers, including SET (Spider Exhaust Technology) cooling, vented pole piece, Polypropylene dust cap, Strontium Ferrite Magnets, Chrome Plated Spring Terminals and a high temperature voice coil former.
Clarion’s new subwoofer line will be widely available in 2007.
