Clarion NX509E: navigate with fun

Clarion, the leading car audio and car navigation systems manufacturer unveils its latest Multimedia and Navigation System unit: the NX509E.

This 2-DIN device includes a 7-inch touch panel control and built-in navigation. The NX509E enhances Clarion’s extensive know-how in multimedia integration.

The body shape is streamlined. A wide variety of functions, ranging from car navigation to AV entertainment, are consolidated into an intuitive user interface so there are only 3 physical buttons present on the front panel, contributing to the clean looks of this model.

The unit shares the Clarion MAP790 portable device advanced navigation software, and its rich map and information database: map data for 44 European countries is preinstalled. All "must have" functions are also present; text-to-speech: while streets are displayed on the screen, voice guidance tells you their actual name ("after 150 metres, turn left onto Saint Margaret Street..."). The rich voice guidance comes with enhanced contents displayed on the screen: 360° 3D realistic views (3D buildings, 3D landmarks), modelling terrain in 3D, topographical view, as well as lane indicators, motorway signposts etc. All useful information is automatically displayed exactly when you need it.

In addition to the built-in data, new maps or updates are easy to upload through a dedicated SD slot.

The system is equipped with the BBE-MP function, which restores harmonics lost during digital audio file compression, thereby reproducing the warmth, detail and nuances of the original source. Its 24-bit D/A converter changes the 16-bit digital data to a full 24-bit format for the ultimate in resolution and clarity. The NX509E of course offers the 2-Zone entertainment function, that separates the in-car environment into two discrete zones, allowing rear seat passengers to enjoy a DVD movie, DivX® video or iPod Video, while the front seat passengers can enjoy their favourite radio station or music from a USB memory device.
