Clarion Makes a Big Splash with All-New Marine Products in 2011

Cypress, California, (January 6, 2011) – Clarion Corporation of America, a market leader and innovator in marine audio electronics today introduces all-new marine speaker and amplifier product lines along with a new watertight audio source unit in 2011.

Clarion is the benchmark for marine audio products both in the aftermarket and as a supplier to the original equipment manufacturers.

The all-new CMD7 is a Marine CD Receiver with USB iPod interface, characterized by its IPX5 rating, water-tight flip-down control panel and rubberized knobs and buttons for easy operation. The 1DIN chassis has an oversized control panel, is Sirius Direct Connect Ready and offers exceptionally smooth sound through the rough waves. All these great features with the same look and feel as Clarion’s legendary CMD6 model at a more affordable price point.

Clarion’s 2011 Marine A/B class multichannel power amplifiers have sleek new cosmetics and are designed specifically to protect electronic components to endure the harsh saltwater environment. Their rugged design includes special conformally-coated circuit boards to resist mold, mildew, and moisture damage and a fan-less anti-corrosion aluminum heatsink cooling system. Clarion marine amplifiers add good looks and a powerful, balanced sound to any boat or yacht making for a smoother, more enjoyable cruise.

Clarion’s XN3410 has 720 watts of maximum power with 90 watts per channel at 4 ohms or 165 watts at 2 ohms. The XN3210 is a 2-channel amplifier with 360 watts of maximum power with 90 watts by 2 channels @4 ohms or 160 watts at 2 ohms. Both the XN3410 and XN3210 offer bridgeable operation with built-in crossovers, a true marine thermal-management system and meet stringent industry standards like the ASTM UV test and have ABYC compliant power terminals.

Clarion’s all-new CMG marine speaker product line offers coaxial, component and free-air marine subwoofer configurations. The CMG1620R, 6.5-inch coaxial speakers, CMG1620S 6.5-inch 2-way component marine speaker system with surface and flush-mountable tweeter, and the CMG1720R, 7-inch coaxial all offer sleek new waterproof design and titanium-coated balanced tweeters for accurate sound and high efficiency with 90 watts of maximum power.

The CMG2510W 10-inch water-resistant Free-air subwoofer has 250 watts of maximum power handling. The new waterproof design is durable with a Centrex 814 high-impact basket construction and passes ASTM test standards (B117- Salt/ Fog exposure and D4329 UV exposure).

Brand new for Clarion in 2011 are illuminated speaker grilles. The CML1600 is the grille for Clarion’s 6.5 inch marine speakers and the CML2500 is for the 10” Clarion marine subwoofer. The sleek white grilles have blue illumination, setting the perfect mood on the water for a little investment.

Clarion introduces the MF1, an all-new RF wireless remote control kit with waterproof floating remote control. The MF1 has up to 100-feet range with no line of sight required and is compatible with the CMV1, CMD6, CMD7, CMS1 and M309 marine units. The MF1 also works with Clarion’s car audio source units with the OEM Steering Wheel Remote Control input, great news for those in need of a cool new RF remote control for an automotive application.


Clarion will continue to offer their groundbreaking marine video source unit the CMV1, and very popular marine CD source units, the CMD6, M309 and M109. The Clarion CMQ speaker line from 2010 will also be available throughout 2011.
