Clarion set up its Compliance Consultation and Reporting Desk in November 2003 with the objectives of preventing compliance violations and creating a corporate culture that precludes compliance violations by encouraging employees to discuss and report possible violations. In November 2004, we set up a similar desk outside the company (for telephone or f ax reports), thus further f acilitating consultations and reports. Consultations and reports can also be made anonymously. Furthermore, in connection with the enforcement of the Whistleblower Protection Act in April 2006, we formulated the procedures and schemes of these desks (offices) as an internal regulation, “Regulations for Consultation and Reporting (Regulations on Internal Reports)” and publicized it throughout the company. Over three years, there have been a total of about 130 consultations and reports with more consultations than reports, and they are functioning as an in-house communications tool.
