Clarion unveiled two new all-inclusive multimedia systems: the VRX888RBT with a motorised monitor in 1-DIN format and the MAX688RBT for the 2-DIN slot. Both models are equipped with a 7” touch screen in a 16:9 format, one motorised and the 2-DIN version with a monitor that covers the entire front.
A premium DVD drive with an official DivX certification plays movies with DivX format incl. DivX 6. Furthermore, all common CD and DVD formats are also playable. An RDS tuner with a 24 station memory informs the driver about current events. A further way of accessing music is using the direct iPod control with the original iPod USB wire. The touch screen in the familiar iPod handling serves to control it. Other MP3 players can also be connected to the USB port. An integrated Bluetooth receiver also enables uploading music files from other Bluetooth-compatible devices such as mobiles or MP3 players that also use this standard. In doing so, the protocols HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, and OPP are supported.

Hands-free phoning is, of course, also possible using Bluetooth; in addition to the
integrated microphone in the front panel, an additional external microphone is provided.
Good sound is provided by the 4x 50 watt MOS-FET power amplifier and the 3-band parametric EQ, supported by 6 RCA outputs and the high-quality 24 bit DA converter. Thanks to the 2-zone playback, the rear passengers can watch a movie while the navigation system explains the route to the driver. A remote control for controlling from the rear is included. Using a Ce-NET control, the systems can be updated with a CD changer or the hard drive navigation systems NAX983HD / NAX973HD / NAX963HD.
