What do the letters in the model number mean?

The 1st Letter relates to the head-unit or audiovisual "Source Type", for example:
"A" Means: Radio Cassette
"D" Means: CD player
"M" Means: MD player
"T" Means: Television
"VR" Means: Visual & Radio
The 2nd letter following any of the above confirms the products "Classification" e.g.

How do I deactivate the screensaver on DB328/BD329?

The screen saver function can be switched on and off by pressing the [SS] button while holding down the [BND] button.

How do I activate the telephone mute function?

Most Clarion head units (Radio-Cassette, Radio-CD, Radio-MD) have a Telephone-mute feature. To activate telephone-mute press and hold the [BAND] button together with preset [5] simultaneously. The display panel will confirm that this feature is activated. Audiovisual models with full screen setup menus have a different method of activation. The adjustment menu is accessible by pressing the [ADJ] button for more than 2 seconds and you need only follow the on screen guidance.

Why does my radio "forget" my personal settings?

The Power supplies to the radio have not been connected correctly. Note also that both Vauxhall/Opel and VW vehicles have unique installation requirements; please refer carefully to the supplied manual or seek professional advice from your supplying retailer.

Why can't I access my bass and treble controls?

The tone controls are disabled if you have a Digital Sound Processor module connected or if the Z-Enhancer is enabled. If there is no menu option press and hold BAND and PRESET 3 simultaneously or BAND and RANDOM.

How do I connect a digital cable?

The grey connector is connected to the sound source and the black connector is connected to the sound processor. Usually the sockets are colour coded. A grey plug needs to be inserted into the grey socket; a black plug needs to be placed into the black socket.

What is the wiring colour code for my aftermarket radio?

Clarion's use of wire colour is standard for the industry. You should however note that it is common for not every connection to be used. For example if your vehicle has not got a loom for rear speakers a connection will not exist.

What guarantee does Clarion provide?

Unlike most, all of our products purchased from 1st April 2003 are guaranteed against manufacturing defect for a period of two years. So it pays to choose Clarion when it comes to In Car Entertainment!

In the event of experiencing a difficulty with any of our products, you must without delay return to your supplier, with of course your purchase receipt so that they can arrange for a replacement.

My Clarion has a fault, what should I do?

If your equipment is less than two years old and was purchased after 1st April 2003, return to your supplier, with of course your purchase receipt and they will arrange for a replacement.
If the defective equipment if out of warranty you can visit any one of our authorised stockist, they will be pleased to provide or organise a local repair.
