Clarion Continues “Picture In Picture” and “Split Screen Technology” for the Rear Seat

Gardena, CA – (January 6, 2004)- In its ongoing effort to bring the comforts of home into the mobile environment, Clarion Corporation of America, a leading manufacturer of mobile multimedia products, continues its Picture In Picture (PIP) and adjustable Split Screen technologies with two overhead monitors: the OHM102 (10.2-inch widescreen monitor) and OHM153 (15.3-inch widescreen monitor).

These two technologies allow the user to simultaneously watch a DVD movie and play a video game using anyone of today’s popular gaming units. Clarion also equips these overheads with dual IR audio outputs. This allows the user to switch between two audio sources directly from the dual-channel wireless headphone included with each monitor.

“It makes sense that consumers are given the convenience of these innovative technologies,” says Kazu Arai, Clarion’s Marketing Manager. “Picture In Picture and Split Screen technologies are both proven features in the home entertainment industry. Having dual IR audio outputs adds to the convenience of both of these features,” he adds.

Clarion also demonstrates its attention to today’s gaming craze by outfitting the OHM102 and OHM153 with an external audio / video game port, which allows for greater flexibility when constructing a rear-seat entertainment package. The port can also be used to plug in an external DVD, VHS player, or camcorder for pure enjoyment.

The OHM102 and OHM153 monitors tout a TFT active matrix display and offer 16:9 / 4:3 widescreen formats. The overheads also come equipped with a lightweight plastic housing, a built-in dome light and a universal metal mounting bracket, a wireless remote control, two audio / video inputs, which can be expanded to four, and one video output. The OHM102 also sports a swivel mechanism that allows the user to direct the screen to optimal viewing position.

“Clarion is excited to continue the OHM102 and OHM153. We feel that these monitors are the perfect starting point for any rear-seat entertainment package,” says Arai.

The MSRP for the OHM102 is $899.99, and the OHM153 has an MSRP of $1,099.99.
